One Day Millinery Workshops –

Millinery 1- Flat Work (8)

Sunday 12th (next Sunday); Monday 20th May; Saturday 8th June

Learn the basics of working with sinamay. Make and complete your first headpiece. Learn how to make simple bases.

To date the results from this workshop have been outstanding.

Millinery 2- Basics of Blocking (8)

Sunday 26th May; Sunday 9th June.

Take your millinery skills a stage further. Block a brimless hat from sinamay. Make a pill box smartie or vintage small using sinamay.

Millinery 3- Advanced Blocking. Places limited to 5

Sunday 16th June; Sunday 23rd June.

Now add a brim to your crown. Make a sinamay cloche or downturned brimmed hat. Classic vintage styles are achieved using these techniques.

Make and learn how to trim a beautiful brimless hat out of felt. Timeless classics.

Make and trim a beautiful downturned brim hat, a classic vintage cloche or a vintage small. The hat that quite literally changed history!

Half Day Sewing Workshops Sewing Machine Bootcamp

Learn all how to use a sewing machine comfortably.

I will be continuing these free demos throughout August with the onus being on dyeing techniques.

Learn all the basic skills to get started and go away with a fabulous bespoke creation. Working on the flat but with an option to create three dimensional pieces without blocking. Very hands on. Basic sewing skills are required. All materials and lunch is included.

Sunday 23rd September     Millinery 2 - Basic Blocking Using Household Utensils

This builds on skills learnt in Millinery 1. Learn how to make a blocked half hat or pillar box without having to purchase hat blocks. Great fun with astonishing results.

Should you want to make more than one piece,materials are available for purchase. Lunch and light refreshments will also be provided

Courses run from 10am to 5 pm

A 50 % deposit is required with bookings.
