Leaf Living; organic fabrics

For anyone dismayed at the severe lack of organic and fairtrade materials available in Ireland, you'll be glad to hear that Leaf Living now stocks about 20 different organic and fair trade cotton fabrics. They also sell fabric for interiors and upholstery by the meter. They are currently updating their website to include all the fabrics they hold in stock. If you can't wait, just give them a call.

They also sell Fashion Kits. A Fashion Kit includes all the materials you need to make the particular item, for example a dress or blouse; sizes are pre-traced and range from size 10 to size 16, come with a bobbin of matching thread and full instructions on how to make your chosen garment. For those wanting to have a go at dress-making, this is a good practice kit!

"Leaf Living is a sustainable lifestyle company". They also sell a range of other textile products, eg, fashion, bed-linen, etc, that are fairtrade and organic.

Great tip, thanks! I've only been in Ireland for 18 months and found your blog a month ago and it has been brilliant! A great source of craft information! Thank you!

Sure will! It's a little late this year but I attended a fabulous one-day fabric printing course in Wicklow run by Stephanie and Joanna Sloan. They ran a few courses this summer and are looking to add more next year. http://www.theoldrectory.ie/

Hi there,
I found your blog a while ago and was really delighted to see this kind of resource in Ireland for all textiles, it’s really good.
I have just set up an organic clothing company in Ireland, our clothing and fabrics are 100% organic cotton and are naturally dyed using plants from Ayurveda. Our full range of products will be available online by the end of Feb. It would be great if you could check us out, our website is www.ayuvastra.ie Thanks a million.
