KNITTING WORKSHOPS, Cork

Finishing Touches – Edging with a difference.

Create professional and beautiful pieces by learning how to create I-cord edging and buttonholes, how to pick up stitches to create a smooth even edge, and how to easily transform your work with a knitted hem.

Teacher: Carol Feller:
Carol is a widely published knitwear designer. Her work can be seen in Interweave Knits, Yarn Forward, Twist Collective and Knitty.

Knitting Socks from the Top Down
This class covers the basics to sock knitting, including stretchy cast-ons, turning the heel and how to graft up those toes! This will be an intense 3 hour workshop and in the interest of getting through all the techniques a small toddler size sock will the project for this class (using the Magic Loop method). Participants in the class should know at least one method of casting on, how to knit and purl and be familiar with knitting in the round. Knowing how to pick up stitches is useful but not required. Some preparation required in advance of class.

Teacher: Sue Cullen
Sue has been knitting for more than 18 years and is experienced in various types of knitting including fairisle, lace and knitting in the round. Her teaching experience ranges from teenagers to adults. She loves learning new methods and techniques and sharing these with other knitters.

When: Saturday 21st November, 2009
Cost: €30 per class or €50 for both classes (plus materials).
Full payment required with booking. Payment via paypal preferred but cheques can also be used.
