Although she trained in Fine Arts, Susan has always had a great love for textiles and embroidery in particular. Taught basic stitches as a child by her mother, she has extended her knowledge with research and hands-on experience. For almost 20 years, she has designed and stitched projects for Australian Smocking and Embroidery and Inspirations magazines and has just released her second book, Embroidered Flowers for Elizabeth.

An exquisite design featuring favourite field and garden flowers, such as cornflowers, honeysuckle, heartsease and rose, combined with hearts. Tiny gold spangles scattered around the design add to the richness created by the glorious silk threads.

SMOCKED SAMPLER: INTRODUCTION TO SMOCKING - 1 DAY CLASS

Have you always wanted to create beautiful smocked garments and didn’t know where to start? Susan will teach you the basic smocking stitches, how to use a pleater and how to embellish your smocking with embroidery. You will create a lovely smocked sampler ready to frame.
