As part of an upcoming series of talks on curation in craft organised by the National Craft Gallery, Professor Lesley Millar will give a talk on curating contemporary textiles at 2.30 on October 28th this year, concurrent with the Knit and Stitch show in the RDS, Dublin.
Lesley Millar is Professor of Textile Culture at the University College for the Creative Arts at Canterbury, Epsom, Farnham, Maidstone and Rochester, as well as a Visiting Lecturer at Hereford College of Art. She is the author of a large number of articles on arts and textiles and has curated exhibitions all over the world. She is currently Project Director for ‘Cultex’ - an exchange scheme between textile artists in Japan and Norway. Her current research and curation projects include a major international exhibition, Transparent Boundaries, which will open in the Gas Hall at Birmingham Museum and Art Gallery in late October 201.
