Craft ACT: Craft + Design Centre have an opportunity for an
international craft practitioner or designer-maker to undertake a unique
artist-in-residency in Australia’s Capital City, Canberra.
In 2015, Craft ACT in collaboration with ACT Parks and Conservation
service, is offering one international professional artist a 2-4 week
residency at Gudgenby Ready-Cut Cottage in Namadgi National Park located
in the Nation’s Capital, Canberra, during August and September 2015.
The artist will respond to their experience by creating new works for an
exhibition in the Craft ACT Gallery in 2016. The Artist-in-Residence
programme expressions of interest are open to professional, practicing
craft practitioners and designer-makers who have a demonstrated history
of excellence in their practice.

Craft ACT: Craft and Design Centre is the cultural network organisation
in the greater Canberra region for all craft media with 40 years of
experience. It advocates for the professional craft and design sector
and delivers services to support sustainable professional practice.
This is a unique opportunity for an artist to not only experience
Australia but to also develop new work to be exhibited internationally.
Previous artist to undertake the international residency include
celebrated UK textile artist Michael Brennand-Wood and renowned Japanese
wood artist Satoshi Fujinuma.
