Creating Works of Art Through Fibre
Feltmakers Ireland is a national organisation founded in May 2003 in response to a growing interest in feltmaking. They provide workshops, exhibitions and information about feltmaking not only for members but for anyone interested in feltmaking.
Feltmakers Ireland has received enthusiastic support from a very energetic membership. They regularly attend events such as The Knitting and Stitching Show, Bloom, The Museum of Folk Life. They run regular drop-in felting sessions in Blanchardstown, Lucan and Bray, four major workshops are held every year and are open to anyone to attend. An exhibition of the work of members of Feltmakers Ireland is held every second year and is a showcase for the wealth of skills and talent from their membership.
They are also in the process of setting up a new permanent studio in Phoenix Park in Dublin, for use by members.
Feltmakers Ireland is a member of the International Feltmakers Association and is affiliated to the Crafts Council of Ireland.
Visit their website for more info on membership and regular updates on events such as workshops and drop-in sessions.
