3M “Fashion-it to Win-it”
The models are among the many fantastic supporters giving their time and services free of charge for the 3M Fashion-it show, being held to raise funds for The Children’s Sunshine Home and Laura Lynn Children’s Hospice Foundation.
RTE presenter and former model Pamela Flood, who knows all about the inspiring world of fashion, will be compering the event and leading DJ Joanne Cunningham will be creating the atmosphere to match the eclectic evening.
“It’s going to be an amazing night, with truly innovative fashion and all for a fantastic cause,” said Liobhán O'Hora of the diversified technology company 3M, which is staging the event.
“The Foundation is working to establish the first children’s hospice in the Republic of Ireland and we’re delighted that the stars and the city’s business community are giving such valuable support. We have received some brilliant raffle prizes.”
The designs being modelled at the show are the finalists in a 3M “Fashion-it to Win-it” contest and their creators are competing for a coveted first prize of €1,500.
All the garments have been made entirely out of 3M products ranging from respirators and safety spectacles to sandpaper rolls, eye patches and Post-it Notes!
Entries have been submitted by budding fashion designers from all over Ireland with more yet to come. The closing date is Thursday, 2nd September.
“We’ve been knocked out by the originality and beauty of the designs,” added Liobhán. “It’s certainly going to be a fashion show with a difference.”
The event is being held on Thursday, 16 September at the Sugar Club, 8 Lower Leeson Street, Dublin 8, with the doors opening at 7.00 pm and the show starting at 8.00pm.
Tickets are now on sale priced €20 from 3Mfashionit@mmm.com or call (01) 280 3555
