More updates on ‘The Story of Lace’ – part of the 2011 Pan Celtic Festival
The Seminar - Friday 29th April 2011
This is shaping up to be a fantastic event, as well as Máire Treanor and Nora Finnegan, Veronica Stuart, and up to 15 of The Traditional Lacemakers of Ireland (TLI) are booked in to attend the seminar, show samples, and demonstrate what they are working on at the moment.
Daniel Shaw-Smith, who produced and directed the the Hands TV series will also be present. The unique, multi-award winning series of thirty-seven documentries is now available on DVD, and will be on sale at the event. The construction and use of the Kerry naomhóg is featured in the Currachs episode so we are delighted to have Daniel return.
The icing on the cake is the fact we get to launch two fantastic books on Irish Lace. Clones Lace by Máire Treanor has just ben reprinted by the Lacis Museum, USA, and Youghal Lace has just been revised and reprinted by Catherine Clancy and we are going to officially launch them at our seminar!
