As part of the PEACE III – “Tree Mend Us”
Project funded through Castlereagh and Lisburn City Councils we are asking
schools, community groups and individuals from across the Boroughs of Lisburn,
Colin and Monaghan to take part in a shared attempt to make the longest
continuous line of bunting.
3 MILES WILL BE SUBMITTED TO GUINNESS BOOK
OF WORLD RECORDS
GUIDELINES
The flags can be made from a variety of
assorted patterns and colours. We would suggest using scraps and recycled
materials from off-cuts or old clothes ensuring you use hardy materials such as
denim, corduroy and other sturdy fabrics.
Flags can be personalised in any way that
participants would like. e.g. quilted, applique, embroidery, knitted, painted(with fabric paints), glittered,
graffiti’d, collage, etc.
We would definitely suggest that each
school or group that takes part creates their first flag with their name on
it. We will stitch this onto the line as
a marker to identify your contributions. There is no restriction on the number of
flags you can enter
Each
flag must measure exactly 29cm (11½ inches) on each of the long sides and 19cm
(7½ inches) across the top.
A gap of exactly 5cm (2inches) is allowed
between each flag.
N.B This is for the team of stitchers who will eventually attach your flags to the ribbon. The rope the flags are to be attached to must be continuous. No Joins are allowed. GULP! This is why we need your flags to be sent to a central location – the stitching HQ
