Irish Museum Association: Textile collections


IMA FORUM: TEXTILE COLLECTIONS

Call for Papers. Deadline date: Wednesday 4th September at 5pm.

The Irish Museums Association would like to invite submissions of papers for the IMA Forum: Textile Collections, open to curators, conservators, archivists and other museum professionals, to be held on Friday 18 October from 10.30am to 4pm in Dublin City Centre (location tbc).

Submissions may cover a variety of topics relating to the management, care and history of textile collections. These can include original research; case studies; history of collections; education; care & storage; and review papers. The purpose of this forum, an initiative of the Irish Museums Association, is to give you a chance to share your findings, debate and engage with others working with textile collections in museums, galleries and cultural institutions.

This full-day event will comprise up to eight presentations of 15 minute duration, with generous time for discussion and will be followed by a workshop.

The proposal should include:
name,
organisation (if applicable),
contact details,
short personal bio (80 words max.)
presentation title
presentation abstract (200 words max.)



Deadline for receipt of submissions is Wednesday 4 September 5pm. All applicants will be notified by email within one week of submission deadline. Applicants will need to be available to present on Friday 18 October. Presentations will be no more than 15-minutes long, with extra time allocated for panel Q&A. Successful applicants will need to confirm technical requirement details within one week of being notified.
