The Knitted Poem

Last May we wrote about The Poetry Society in the UK looking for volunteers to knit letters. "To celebrate, they are going to create the world's first giant knitted poem. Knitters everywhere are invited to knit a poem one letter at a time. The final poem, in all its knitted glory will be revealed at the end of the centenary year." (Read it in full here).

For anyone involved, that doesn't know already, there is a Ravelry group, Knit a Poem. where you can ask and chat about yarn type, tension, and poetry!

The Poetry Society are now posting a knitting related poem each week on their website. Here is Week no 2's poem:

Emily Dickinson
Autumn - overlooked my Knitting

Dyes - said He - have I -
Could disparage a Flamingo -
Show Me them - said I -
Cochineal - I chose - for deeming
It resemble Thee -
And the little Border - Dusker -
For resembling Me
