Aine Dunne, Weaving Studio, Co. Louth




Aine Dunne designs and handweaves tapestry wall hangings for public and private clients. Introduced to tapestry weaving by artist Liam O’Broin in 1980. Áine spent time working and training with Regina Bartsh, Helena Ruuth, Alice Roden, Anne Marie Moroney and Judith Hoad throughout the 80s and 90s.
Aine is a member of the Irish Guild of Weavers Spinners and Dyers since the mid 80s and has exhibited with them throughout the years.

She has produced some major works that include a commission from the Augustinian Community Drogheda celebrating 700 years in the town and Stephens Green Hotel Dublin part of the O’Callaghan Hotel Group.


Aine runs workshops in tapestry weaving and spinning. These are available at her studio and through schools and community centres. Workshops can be one off introductions to hand spinning or weaving or a series of 10 workshops that include the history of weaving, design techniques, spinning sheep’s wool, setting up a loom and weaving and finishing a simple piece of weaving.


Studio Opening Hours
The studio is open to the public
Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm during the months of May to September.
Visitors will be accommodated outside these hours by appointment only
